Passed away, Friday, September 8, 2017.  Irene was a proud product of Milwaukee's thriving south side polish community in the 30's and 40's, and a daughter of two polish immigrants, Charlotte and Frank Golos.  When not raising 6 little south siders, Irene's professional career was true Milwaukee: librarian at the downtown central library, secretary at numerous local manufacturers, pension coordinator with Teamsters Local 200 and historian and curator of St. Joan of Arc Chapel at Marquette U.  In her spare time, "Irenka" sped down suicide hill on ice skates, led cheers for the Pulaski Rams, swam water ballet with a future Hollywood starlet, helped out with schools and parishes her family belonged to, sewed vestments worn by priests, altar linens and church decorations for several parishes, built professional quality doll houses, made her own clothes from scratch (taking after her seamstress mother) and wrote two captivating novels and numerous short stories.  Irene gave her heart and soul to her family and her church and was welcoming to all, with no exceptions.

Irene is survived by retired Milwaukee firefighter husband, Harry Wesolowski, loving twin sister, Alice Grzona, daughters, Laurie (Tim) Theisen, Cindi (Mike) Suvaka, Jane (Scott) Kassis, sons, Jesse (Sandi), Billy (Kelly) and Mark Wesolowski, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and new great grandchild due in November, sister in law, Jackie Golos, brother in law Sylvester Nieznanski.  She was preceded in death by her sister Jean Nieznanski and retired Milwaukee Firefighter,  brother, Teddy Golos and brother in law Harry Grzona.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 16th at ST. JOHN PAUL II - ST. HELEN SITE 3329 S. 10th St. at 11:00 A.M.  In State AT CHURCH from 9:30 to 10:45 A.M.  Entombment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
