Ruth Patricia Sarnowski, 85, passed peacefully on Saturday April 7, 2018 at Villa St. Francis in Milwaukee. She was born on September 23, 1932 in Milwaukee to the late Joseph and Stefania (Nowicki) Stanislavaitis.
Ruth lived and worked in Milwaukee, venturing occasionally outside of Wisconsin, but was always happy to return home. Until her retirement she worked for JH Collectibles, formally Junior House, and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Local 188. Ruth was a proud Catholic and practiced her faith to the end.
Ruth will be remembered for her bubbly personality, her sense of humor and her love of a quick pick. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents Ruth was preceded in death by her sisters and brother, Frances Stachowski, Anna Jacomet, John Staniswalis, Estelle Kasprzak, Angeline Sherman and Virginia Fluke.
Survivors include nephews Bryan Fluke (Carla), Michael Stachowski, Charles Staniswalis, Kenneth Kasprzak, Alan Sherman, nieces Barbara Olsen (Jamie), Jane Drollinger, Stella Toibin, Lois Bruss, Linda Deleon, and Nancy Emmerich. Other survivors include Dianne Kasprzak, brother-in-law Roman Stachowski and dear friend Virginia Wilke. There are also many great nieces and nephews who will remember Auntie Ruthie fondly.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 4pm Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Villa St. Francis, 1910 W. Ohio Ave, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53215. Private interment will follow at a date to be determined. Arrangements entrusted to Joseph E. Sass Funeral Home.
