Arlene Myszka

Arlene (Zynda) Myszka, 88, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026. Born on December 18, 1937, to Esther and Frank Zynda, Arlene was raised in St. Francis, where she later built a loving home and raised her family with her late husband, Jack Myszka. Arlene and Jack began their life together with an unforgettable adventure when their honeymoon flight to Bermuda nearly crashed. Thankfully, they landed safely, and their journey together continued as they enjoyed traveling and welcomed their beloved children: Brian (Cyndy) Myszka, Dawn (Bret Swann) Haverfield-Swann, and Troy (Irene) Myszka. When meeting new people, Arlene would proudly say, “I have five brothers,” and when asked which was her favorite, she always insisted they all were: Rhody (Mickey), Dick (Irene), Mel, Hop (Pat), and Gary Zynda. Arlene enjoyed being a supportive and cherished “Grams” to her granddaughters: Aryn, Haley, Briar, and Riley. Some of her fondest memories were traveling to visit Riley in Nevada, and attending baton, dance, and other extra curricular events and cheering on Aryn, Haley and Briar. She was also a treasured aunt to many 1st and 2nd generation nieces and nephews. To all of them, she was affectionately and simply known as “Auntie.” Her bond was especially strong with Lori (Dave) Kutschenreuter, Kathy Karwowski, Miranda (Adam) Kneeland, and April (Michael) Herrick. Arlene loved children and animals, especially her surviving feline companion, Leah. Arlene remained playful, spunky, and full of joy throughout her life. She was always prepared to care for others helping with cooking, sewing, and listening. A true social butterfly, Arlene enjoyed lunches with friends, volunteering with the Miss St. Francis Pageant, and casino road trips. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to New Beginnings Shih Tzu Rescue. www.nbstr.org Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday, May 14th from 11AM until time of services at 1PM. Interment to follow St Adalbert Cemetery. Guests are encouraged to wear Arlene's favorite color, blue. Arlene leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and inspiring others to stay young at heart.
