July 23, 1932 – June 8, 2026 Barbara E. (Kohnert) Holz, age 93, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on July 23, 1932, Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late Henry Kohnert and Estelle (Faust) Dolney-Kohnert. She lived a long life defined by resilience, creativity, and devotion to her family. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kathy Kiefer; her son, Paul Holz; her granddaughter, Kaylee; her brothers, Carl and Eric; and her sister, Betty. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Susan; her sister, Norma; and her grandchildren, Michelle, Tiffany, Roger, Spencer, Daniel, and Clint. She also leaves behind her treasured great-grandchildren, Jacob, Sawyer, Wyatt, Shyleau, Elleanor, and LolaMae, as well as her cherished great-great-granddaughter, Grace, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life. Barbara had a creative spirit and a playful heart. She loved to dance, play bingo, create art, and make homemade treats for family and friends. Some of her happiest moments were spent during the summer months, relaxing on her patio and admiring the beauty of her backyard, a place where she found peace and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Family and friends were always at the center of Barbara’s world. She delighted in time with her loved ones, sharing stories and laughter, and watching each new generation grow. Her kindness, sass, and strength will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she will be deeply missed, Barbara’s love and legacy will continue to live on through the family she cherished and the countless memories they shared. A private family service will be held to celebrate Barbara’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who knew Barbara honor her memory by spending time with those they love, appreciating the beauty of a summer day, and embracing the simple joys that made her smile.
