Bette Dulka Obituary

Bette Dulka of Milwaukee, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the age of 95, surrounded by her daughter, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bette was born on November 15, 1930, to Salomea (nee Swaitowy) and Joseph Dulka in the south side of Milwaukee. Her family later settled in West Allis, where she was a member of the first graduating class of Notre Dame High School in 1947. Bette spent many of her working years in the county’s Register of Deeds Office. She subsequently earned her real estate broker license and started her own company. Bette always cherished her Polish roots, maintaining her fluency in Polish. In her free time, she participated in and volunteered with the Polanki Polish Culture Club, preserving strong familial ties to her extended family in Poland for over 80 years. She made several visits to Poland over the decades, always bringing back lots of BolesÅ‚awiec pottery. In addition to her involvement with Polanki, Bette volunteered at the Milwaukee Art Museum for several years. Above all, she loved her faith and dedicated her time to volunteering for the church and serving the underserved in the community. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Josaphat Basilica, where she served as a liturgical minister, volunteer administrator, and worked weekly in their food pantry. Bette is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Claude) Szpot and Maureen Bird, seven grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Kois, Erica (Tim) Thielbar, Veronica (Keith) Hill, Jeremiah Szpot, Devon Szpot, Michael (Courtney) Coughenour, Justin Bird, and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14th from 10AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm at Immaculate Conception 1023 E Russel Ave, Milwaukee, WI.
