Charles R. Stauber

Charles was born to Eternal Life on July 21, 2022 at the age of 89.  Beloved husband of Rita (nee Koefler).  Dear father of Stephanie (Chris) Flannigan and Edward (deceased).  Loving Grandpa to James and Sarah.

Chuck was a kind, caring man who loved people.  An educator, he began his career at Sheboygan Normal School, then served in the U.S. Army.  Graduating from UW-Platteville with a B.A. followed by a Masters Degree from Ole Miss, he taught math and science in the West Allis Public Schools at Horace Mann Middle School and Nathan Hale High School.  Even in retirement he continued to teach English in Poland and tutored Missionary priests in English at the Xaverian Missions.   He was a deeply faithful man who also shared his faith by teaching confirmation classes at St. Alphonsus and serving as a Eucharistic minister to the homebound. 

Military service also remained a part of his life as a member of the 128th Wing Air National Guard in Operations.   A lifelong learner, Chuck continued to study languages, take math and science courses, and read history and books about other cultures.  He always enjoyed traveling, polka music and fishing.

Our family would like to thank the team at Froedtert Hospital and Zilber Hospice for the care they provided for Charles.

Funeral Mass and Military Honors on August 13th at 11:00am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 6060 W. Loomis Rd., Greendale.  Visitation begins at 9:30am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Heart of the Nation or Padre Pio Foundation of America appreciated.
