Donald J Speck

Donald J. Speck, 91, entered into Eternal Life on 4/7/2025. Loving husband of Elaine for 57 years. Beloved father of Victor (Kathi) Gonzalez, Walter (Julie), Lisa (Chris) Mattacotti, Elizabeth and Michelle. Proud grandfather of Kyle, Tom, Jeff, James, Nichole, Haley, Kirsten and Daniel. Further survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  Preceded in death by his parents Valentine and Helen; brothers Walter “Ace”, Johnny, Ray, Joe, Ervin, Stanley, Benny and Frank and sisters Lucille “Lou”, Adeline, Rose, and Anna.

Donald served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had a passion for gardening, providing family, friends and neighbors ample vegetables for many summers. He enjoyed decorating the yard for the holidays, spending endless hours making his own decorations. He also enjoyed westerns and could often be heard singing some of his favorite songs around the house. And he loved spending time with his grandchildren whether it be taking walks, planting flowers in the garden, building something or just hanging around the house. Donald will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who love him. 

Visitation at Joseph E. Sass Funeral Home 1019 W Oklahoma Ave. on Monday, April 28th from 10AM until the time of service at 12PM. Memorial luncheon to follow at Emerald City 3555 S 13th St.
