Janine (Darlavoy) Sims

Janine Sims was born on July 2, 1936 in Coussac-Bonneval, France to Gabriel and Madeleine Darlavoy. Janine was baptized at an early age at their church in Coussac, France. Janine received her Bachelor's degree in Education while in France and later met and married George C. Sims on January 10, 1962. While in the military they were able to travel the world until his retirement in 1977.

Janine and her husband, George Sims later moved to Wisconsin in 1977 where she later began her teaching career in the MPS systems at the French Immersion School until her retirement.

Janine was a longtime member of the Princess Ella Chapter #1 (OES) Unity Grand Chapter where she held a large number of positions.

Janine D. Sims departed this life on January 22, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Madeleine Darlavoy, son, Remi, husband, George C. Sims, father and mother in law, George and Eloise Sims, and brother, Michel (Michele) Darlavoy.

Janine leaves to cherish her memory: son, Ronald Sims of Milwaukee, sister, Marie Louise of France, niece, Christine and nephew, Eric of France, brother in law, Robert (Irene) Sims, sister in law, Leilani of Milwaukee, special niece, Tammy Vicks, adopted daughters, Velvet, Laurence, Tracey, Beverly, and Patrica, adopted son, Sam, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins all over the USA and France.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, February  4th at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial Gathering at the funeral home from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M.
