Margaret "Maggie" Ruiz

Margaret "Maggie" Ruiz, a dedicated Journeyman Mailer, UWM graduate, and quintessential Milwaukee resident, passed away October 14th, 2021, at the age of 64.

Maggie is survived by her daughter Suzanne Ruiz; brothers John Ruiz, Lawrence Ruiz, Gary Ruiz, and sisters; Lillian Ruiz-Orellana, Corinne Ruiz; niece, nephews; and dear friend, partner, and soul mate, Mark Varro, Kitty Kitty Star, and many, many, friends who Maggie has blessed with her selfless, helpful, loving, and free spirit. She was predeceased by her daughter Lisa Ann, and her beloved dog "Bear".

Maggie loved art forms of all kinds, especially pottery, and was the former owner of the Ruiz Eclectic Art Gallery in Bay View. She was earthly and saw beauty in all people, all creatures, and all of nature. Her favorite things to do were to drive along the lakefront, walk around South Shore park, and take long drives in the country, find someplace "new" to eat, and read the bible.

Maggie's faith was very important to her as a non-denominational Christian, and she would never be without a bible in her possession. She accepted people as they are, always preferring to be non judgmental. She also supported charitable organizations, churches, helped the homeless, and other disadvantaged people, whenever she could.

Maggie lived her life her way, lovingly, and with courage. She lifted all those she met by always showing love, smiles, and demonstrating courage. She enjoyed helping others to be better people, and Maggie's legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with. She was truly one of our Saints on earth, and she will be deeply missed.

A private memorial was held at the Joseph Sass funeral home, there was no service per Maggie's wishes.
